Our app is called Capsalert, it is an accessible medication alert app that allows users to add information on their medical needs and help them be consistent in their health by sending notification alerts to their phone. Our intended users are anyone who takes medication.

We used: Tailwind, React native, Firebase, expo, nativewind.

We wanted to try new tech for our app and explore different backend and frontend technologies.

Choosing the best technologies and spiking them - using new technologies that were not taught on the course and making sure that we spike them and determine whether they are fit for purpose for our project - and get everything done in less than 2 weeks Figuring out how to access, store and update data on Firebase - the next challenge was interacting with the data on Firebase, there’s been some significant changes to the Firebase syntax in the last 2 years, and we found the documentation and tutorials which included these updates are still somewhat limited. Local notifications - and lastly, we had to thoroughly test and ensure that our notifications came up at the right time, can be repeated and are stored locally on your phone, so that they can still pop up even when you lose internet connectivity.
