We used: React Native, Expo, Express, MongoDB/Mongoose, Axios, Bcrypt, Node.JS.
We wanted to challenge ourselves and create a mobile application. We are all quite familiar with PSQL, but were interested in learning simpler database management systems and came across MongoDB. User authentication and password encryption was something we were all interested in and so we chose bcrypt for managing this.
React Native was a challenging framework for our team. We found that working without access to a browser was difficult, and creating components that were compatible with both iOS/Android was difficult, but ultimately very rewarding.
