Love Birds is an app designed for people in long distance relationships, created by our personal frustration with pestering our partners with notifications every day. We wanted an app with an external drop box to leave messages pictures tiktoks and more for them to open at the end of the day when they are ready, with no push notifications. The app works by syncing your accounts together and anything you send to the ‘egg’ goes directly into their nest. The catch is, you can set a small game or challenge for them that they must complete in order for them to unlock the egg.

We used React native, firebase, typescript, tailwind, expo.

After spiking various possibilities, we thought these technologies suited our needs in a simple and effective way, while it also challenged us to learn new frameworks.

Problems we came across: Nested navigation, incompatibilities of technology, merge conflicts, communication between the team.
