Welcome to the Campervan App! We were tired of seeing unused camper vans sitting on driveways... So we decided to design this mobile application to help you find the perfect campervan for your trip or rent out your campervan while you're not using it. The Campervan App offers the following key features: Users details: Users can create an account, log in, and view their van details or upcoming bookings. Vehicle Listings: Browse all available campervans, with information about each vehicle, including descriptions, specifications, photos, rental rates and reviews. Advertise a Van: Users can create a listing of their van by providing availability information with a description and images. Booking Management: Reserve campervans by selecting desired dates and reviewing pricing details. Reviews: Renters can leave comments about their experience and rate van quality.

Built with MongoDB and Mongoose, React Native, Express, NodeJS and Expo. Following Test Driven Development we used Jest and SuperTest. Also utilising Android Studio.

We wanted to learn a different back end, MongoDB enabled us to use images- being more flexible than SQL. We also selected React Native as users would be likely to upload images from their mobile. Expo made it possible to deploy our MVP quickly for demo purposes.

Problem with two calendars in one form wasn’t ideal (booking page). The image upload feature and allowing multiple image uploads for advertising a van was a challenge. The dropdown field was a bit tricky to get working on mobile. We wanted to do star rating but didn’t quite have time, one to ten. We’d also love to get the payment working. It would be great to enable the user to manage their profile information and change their password. We’d also love to have a map with some rough markers for people to easily find by location.
