The Seedlings App is designed with many interactive and engaging components with children in mind, from confetti canons for planting seeds, water droplets when clicked to water, tinder cards to select seeds and an array of 2D/3D images. In this digital age, it allows children to become immersed with the potential of their own garden and be more outside. The ability to choose seeds of vegetables and fruit that will grow best in the conditions that they have. They can collect images of their crops as they develop and grow to be able to have a gif created for weekly engagement. There is also a tally of successful harvests and interactive buttons throughout.

We used MongoDB, mongoose, ExpressJS, nodeJS, BCrypt HASH, Cyclic, ReactJS, 3drei, Axios, Spline, threeJS, GSAP, Chakra UI.

In our backend we use this opportunity to try a no SQL database as these are commonly found throughout the industry. BCrypt was an ideal choice to ensure password safety for the login components.
In the frontend we wanted the option to make the site interactive so implemented threeJs, GSAP and an animation site called Spline. We decided to use React as it has many libraries we can interact with such as react-tinder-card and react-confetti. Chakra was an opportunity to step away from styling. in a separate file such as CSS to have an opportunity to style within each component.
