Team Werewallies present Bibliotech

An online community library.

Bibliotech is a peer-to-peer community library mobile app. With libraries closing across the country, we decided to create a platform for users to lend and borrow books from people in their local area.

A user can register, list books for lend, browse available books, request to borrow books, message users to organise handover, and update their profile.

The app was built in React Native and uses Firebase to provide user authentication and to organise and access data.

Tech Stack

We used React Native, Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Expo, Jira.

We chose React Native as it is the industry standard for mobile app creation and allows for simultaneous iOS and Android development. Firebase felt like the obvious choice as it is a single technology that provides authentication, database, and chat technology. Expo allowed us to dynamically test our app on our mobile devices.
