We have all forgotten birthdays or done the last minute runs to the shops! How can we be expected to remember all these birthdays!
With our creation the stress will be alleviated. Be Present will be there to assist in all environments you need, in order to help to keep track of birthdays. Whether with friends, families, co-workers or even more, you can add anyone.

Be Present also offers gift recommendations based on your own friends' chosen interest and based on your chosen budget to make your shopping experience more effortless.

We hope Be Present will help people build stronger relationships in their personal and professional lives and help no one forget your birthday next time!

We used Firebase, React Native, Expo.

Firebase made our backend process very simple and quick to setup, React native was great for writing one piece of code and being able to use it on all platforms and expo was used to actually display our app on our phones, plus it has a built-in barcode scanner.

We would optimise our app by allowing users to add more refinement in recommendations, to add more subcategories, sorting orders. The same with the possibility to choose different sources of recommendations not only Etsy but also Amazon etc.

In future, user authentication will support authentication by phone number and via Google and Facebook. This will provide users the opportunity to log in using their social media account and automatically access information about friends' birthdays.
