Team Mighty Morphin' Coding Rangers present Pet Inn
An app to connect pet owners with pet loving individuals who can pet sit or offer other services.
This app is for anyone who may need help looking after their pets, or someone that wants to look after a pet, with a specific focus on pet sitting while the owners are on holiday. It allows pet owners to make listings about their pets, their home, and what services they would need. It also allows individuals wanting to pet sit or offer other services like dog walking to post a profile and their availability, price etc. It allows ratings and reviews to be tracked to participants and users to be able to connect.
The idea was inspired by AirBnB and that several members of our team have pets that don't like to be boarded so we prefer to have someone stay with them while on holiday so they can be as happy and stress-free as possible.

Tech Stack
We used React Native, Express, MongoDB, Passport.js.
We wanted to try out several new technologies. MongoDB came up during our research for a robust database that could interact well with other tech.
We used Express to build our backend as it integrated well with Mongo and React native. We used react native as we wanted to build a cross platform app and it has many libraries to customise the app.
We've currently hosted our app on a combination of Railway and Render to allow us to compare these two PaaS deployment environments.

In Conclusion
We had a great time experimenting and learning lots of new tech and have a greater appreciation of the difficulty of designing cross platform apps.
We learned a lot about version control and the challenge of working a project with multiple contributors. There are several features we'd like to implement in the app like a chat feature and integrating with Google Maps.
