Busk-A-Move Demo Video

Connect with fellow Buskers, share your passion, and make every performance unforgettable!

As a musician I've always been intrigued in busking but didn't know too much about it or didn't know anyone else who busked so I pitched the busk-a-move collaboration app to the rest of the group and we decided to go ahead with it. As user you will be a busking musician and the app allows for organising your busk sessions and allow other buskers to see when they're happening, you can filter by instruments and see when and where the busk is happening. You can also check out other buskers and look at the instruments and setup that they use while busking.

We used: Node, Express, PostgreSQL, Supabase, Render, Axios, React, React Native, Expo, Android Studio, Google Maps API.

We wanted to create a mobile app so that it works when you're out and about, react native allowed us to do that. Since this was a big challenge, we used some familiar technologies to speed things up surrounding backend and other features.

Challenges Faced

React Native and getting the map to show was one of our challenges and also dealing with data that we haven't dealt with before such as arrays inside one value in a database field.
