We used: TypeScript, React, Mongodb, Node.js, Express
We chose these technologies to improve our skill set. TypeScript improves our development process by reducing the amount of run-time errors. Mongodb was great because it was a no sql database that wasn't as rigid as the usual SQL database.
Challenges Faced
A challenge that we had during the development was getting the matches linked up. MongoDB would create unique ids for nested documents so we came up with our own ID and used a date string in milliseconds. We trialed tailwind but found it was too much to learn for the limited time we had.
