How did you find your time on the bootcamp?
I really enjoyed my bootcamp experience. It was well worth the time. The bootcamp was quite inspiring, and it introduced me to many people who were insightful and inspirational. There was a lot of good information, hands-on experience and one on one help during the course. Each day was a challenge and kept me really busy. The staff were very encouraging and helpful.
The support provided by the teachers before, during and after the course was truly commendable
What were you doing before the bootcamp and what made you apply?
I was working as a Design Engineer before I joined Northcoders. While I was doing my degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, I had developed an interest in coding, but the course was very intense, and I didn't get much time to explore more about coding.
Later I started working as a Design Engineer. A couple of years later, I got married and moved to Manchester. I decided that it was the right time for me to explore more about coding and build a career in it.
What was the support like on the course?
The teachers were very knowledgeable and had loads of patience to solve all our doubts. The real-life examples chosen by the teachers to explain concepts were really good. The extra classes which were held after the main sessions really helped me to understand concepts better. The support provided by the teachers before, during and after the course was truly commendable.
How much support did you receive from Northcoders with your job search after the course?
Amul was really great in understanding my interests, which companies suited my interests, and helped me in applying for the right companies. His support and guidance was there throughout the process which helped me to land a job in a good company. While I was applying for jobs after the course, there were many companies which expected me to learn different languages - like Java. The support given by the staff while I was learning was amazing. The resources and the way to approach different problems really helped me a lot.
What advice would you give to anyone thinking about applying?
I can only describe my experience at Northcoders as taking each puzzle piece from my core classes and putting it together to see the bigger picture. If somebody is really interested in coding and would like to have a career in it, Northcoders is the right place for that.
