Support Engineer to Developer
How did you find your time on the bootcamp?
Every day is a challenge and some days are harder then others. It was refreshing to use my brain again solving all sorts of problems. Northcoders taught us good practices such as TDD, paired programming and applied an Agile approach to working. The lecturers were amazing, they all knew their stuff and use an interactive approach to engage students.
Northcoders trains people from a wide range of backgrounds and you can learn from any level
I always had intentions doing coding after my day learning however your brain has worked so hard in the day and all you want to do is chill afterwards.
Unfortunately I had a bereavement in my family and had to be away. Luckily the course structure accommodated for this and allowed me to pick up where I left off.
Northcoders enabled me to change my career and start off as a developer.
What were you doing before the bootcamp and what made you apply?
I was a support engineer already working in IT however always had passion to learn how to code. I took the plunge and quit my full-time job which I no longer enjoyed.
What advice would you give to anyone thinking about applying?
Keep learning and reading, trust you will be shown good practices. Northcoders trains people from a wide range of backgrounds and you can learn from any level.
Anything else you'd like to mention?
Definitely worth the money.
