I wanted to move into tech because I like being creative and solving problems with code, whether it was building an app, or designing a website.
What made you choose Northcoders?
I chose Northcoders after seeing an advert on Instagram. I enjoyed doing the entry course and practice challenges, i liked the format. The fact it was free was a plus and the short 13-week format fitted my schedule perfectly. The course support also stood out, the help getting into work was a big factor.
What was the support like on the course?
The support was there from day one, being able to message and ask questions in the lectures as well as being able to contact mentors on Slack in private messages. Plus, staff reach out to check in and see how you are, they genuinely cared, the careers team were the same.
How much support did you receive from Northcoders with your job search after the course?
I got lots of support from my careers mentor, I had Sue Lappage, she helped with my CV, was quick to respond, and set me up with everything I needed to succeed, with presentations, interview prep, and was able to answer any queries too!
What advice would you give to anyone thinking about applying?
My advice would be to go for it, you will learn more than you can imagine, and will be confident and prepared for your future career in tech, because you will succeed.
