Front End Developer at Think Money Group
How did you find your time on the bootcamp?
Northcoders offers a very open, warm, friendly and inspiring environment to learn. I am really happy to have experienced that kind of learning environment as well as making lots of new friends, some of whom are now also colleagues.

What were you doing before the bootcamp and what made you apply?
I retrained from a previous career in the Contemporary Art industry in London, juggling parental responsibilities with freelance web design, self-learning web development and working as a Junior Front End Developer. I applied to the course to fast track my career to take me where I wanted to be.
What was the support like on the course?
The staff offer the right level of support. After undertaking a substantial amount of self-learning, prior to starting, without the network I now have, having people around to assist at times was great. Unlike a lot of my fellow students and perhaps unbeknownst to the tutors and mentors, I had put in a lot of hours over a couple of years before starting the course of working through problems without any support at all and with nobody to ask, so was grateful to have that support at hand when needed.
What advice would you give to anyone thinking about applying?
If you are wondering whether to go down the self-learning route or university - don't! Apply for the course.
