How did you find your time on the bootcamp?

My time at Northcoders was invaluable. Prior to the course, I didn't know anything about JavaScript but by the end, I'd delivered a successful full-stack application with my project team. As well as technical skills I gained confidence, public speaking skills, friends and a love for lunchtime board games!

What were you doing before the bootcamp and what made you apply?

Before Northcoders I worked in recruitment. I recruited across a range of industries, domestically and internationally and although I liked my job something was missing. I had always had an interesting in coding but hadn't pursued it because I wasn't confident enough. I came across Northcoders, and after a conversation with Chris (one of the Co-Founders) I decided to go for it!

What was the support like on the course?

The teaching team at Northcoders are great. They are dedicated and really want to see you succeed! When you are struggling they are there to explain things as many times as you need. The mentoring is brilliant too, it was nice to be able to talk to my mentor as he had been through the same things but could offer a different perspective.

How much support did you receive from Northcoders with your job search after the course?

The support from the teaching team didn't stop after the course and they were always on hand with help for the portfolio pieces or technical tests. I was really impressed with the time they took to help!

What advice would you give to anyone thinking about applying?

If you're thinking about learning to code, just do it. Who knows you might just change your life!
