Hospitality Manager to Software Developer
Nenad Tsvetanovski
Software Developer at Wren Kitchens
How did you find your time on the bootcamp?
From day one starting with Northcoders, I felt it was the right environment for me to learn the new set of skills required to become a software developer. The mentors and the recruitment team have been amazing throughout the whole journey. Every time I got stuck on something no matter how big or small it was, they were there to guide me through the solution. Since I live in Manchester, I had the chance to visit the office as well a couple of times and it was great to meet some of the students and mentors in person.
Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone who wishes to start a career in software development.
What were you doing before the Bootcamp?
I worked as an assistant manager in hospitality for over 5 years but I felt like it was time for a change, plus I had finished computer science before which made me think that I should go back to what I wanted to do in first place - to be a software developer.
What was the support like on the course?
The mentors were great and supportive throughout the whole journey. I'll point out Saleh because he was assigned to me and he was always supportive. I even remember his favourite line that he used throughout the whole course "make more tests!!"
How much support did you receive from Northcoders with your job search after the course?
Couldn't thank more Keely for always being there and supportive and also to Cole who referred my CV to my current employer.
What advice would you give to anyone thinking about applying?
To do the exercises for each lecture.. the more the better! That's the only way to fully understand.
Thank you once again for the whole experience, I proudly wear my Northcoders hoodie.
