Nadia graduated from the Northcoders bootcamp in 2020, we recently caught up with her to see how her career has progressed since graduation.

What job role are you in?

Senior Software Engineer

How have you found your experience progressing in the industry?

Due to the skills I picked up at Northcoders, I was able to secure a place on Raytheon UK's apprenticeship scheme for software developers. I have been given many amazing opportunities already and am looking forward to my career progressing!

How did you find your time on the bootcamp?

The bootcamp I found challenging but rewarding, there was such a steep learning curve and coding was so different to anything I had done before. I really got to grips with JavaScript fundamentals and found areas which I was better at than others. Northcoders gave me a good foundation to build on.

What were you doing before the Bootcamp?

I was a Financial Promotions Manager, which means I used to write and sign off any type of financial promotion from credit card ads to radio ads.

What made you choose Northcoders?

I chose Northcoders with my friends' recommendation who also graduated the bootcamp. He was a developer at the place I worked at the time and persuaded me to take the leap and I'm so glad I did!

What advice would you give to anyone thinking about applying?

Advice I would say, take the leap and it'll be extremely worth it, there are so many opportunities out there and Northcoders gives you a good foundation for you to build a portfolio and progress!
